Christie Hartwell, MHA
Adjunct Professor
Christie Hartwell, MHA, FACHE is an experienced healthcare strategist and is nationally recognized as a leader in the children’s healthcare. She has been teaching Healthcare Strategic Management at VCU since 2017. In her 25+ years as a management consultant, she has had the privilege of working with hundreds of healthcare organizations to help them grow and thrive in a changing environment. This industry exposure brings rich examples and case studies to the classroom experience.
Christie spent two decades with a leading national health care strategy firm, serving as senior member of the firm’s strategic planning team and as the partner in charge of a well-regarded pediatric and children's hospital consulting practice. In 2015, she founded CH Strategy Consulting, LLC, a boutique management consulting firm dedicated to working with children’s health care leaders.
Christie holds a bachelor’s degree from The College of William and Mary and a master’s degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2005, she was recognized by the American College of Healthcare Executives with a Regent’s Award for her contributions to the field of health care leadership.
