Maryam AboMoslim

PhD HSOR Student

Maryam AboMoslim earned her BSc in Nutritional Science, with a minor in population health from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. Continuing at UBC for MSc, she researched the implementation of a mHealth (Mobile Health) intervention in East Africa during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on ethics. Maryam has further certification in Project Management and Healthcare Information and Management Systems.

Prior to her doctoral studies, Maryam was a research coordinator at the Mobile Health Research Group where she supported a variety of mixed methods studies assessing the implementation of mobile health technologies in Canada and internationally. She completed an ethics fellowship with the International Development Research Centre of Canada. Most recently, Maryam managed a cervical cancer screening program in East Africa with an aim to screen-and-treat rural communities with historically high incidence of cervical cancer.

Maryam is passionate about health services research, specifically in areas of optimization and delivery methods, women’s health and global health.
