Josh West is a clinical research coordinator within VCU’s Division of Cardiology, where he is part of a team investigating novel therapeutic targets for congestive heart failure. This work has shaped his research interest in health disparities—particularly how elements of the social determinants of health drive downstream cardiometabolic conditions like cardiovascular disease.

An exercise physiologist by training, Josh earned a BS in Applied Kinesiology from the University of Florida and an MS in Exercise Physiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
