New Student Resources

I am very excited that you will be joining us in Richmond in the fall and can’t wait to get started. The VCU-MHA program is a life-changing experience and you will develop skills and relationships that will last a lifetime. A lot can (and will) happen in three years.

New students should go to VCU's website for accepted students. The Department orientation is scheduled the week before classes begin.  These three days of orientation will be a mix of fun, learning about MHA student life, and work. The program assistants will make sure you know the schedule and attire well ahead of time.

Richmond is a very livable city: It is not too big and not too small.  Move into town as soon as you can and explore. Better yet, coordinate with your classmates and explore together.  Part time student jobs within local healthcare organizations will become available and will be announced via email on an ongoing basis. These are wonderful opportunities for you to earn some money while in school while adding to your health care experience.

Remember that if you have not already done so, you need to complete the all three of the required prerequisite course of financial accounting, statistics, and microeconomics, and send us the transcripts.
